Our fundraising events
As a club we feel that charity events are not only great for raising money, but they're also a good excuse to have some fun! Every year we host a range of different charity events, some more swimming focused like our annual charity gala, others much less so such as our charity pub quiz.
As well as organising our own fundraisers, we have great fun taking part in the broad range of events put on by other Warwick sports and societies to support all the wonderful charities any way we can.
If you would like to get involved in any of these events, or have any ideas of your own, feel free to drop us a message!

The Marine Conservation Society works to protect the UK’s seas, shores and wildlife from pollution as well as ensuring sustainable fishing practices, rising ocean temperatures and maintaining government protections throughout Brexit. As one of the country’s most landlocked universities, this might seem unconventional, but fundraising for the Marine Conservation Society this year is more for us than just raising money. It’s also about raising awareness about the ways that each of us can make a difference in our daily habits. In turn, the Marine Conservation Society also works with industry and government towards circularity: making sure resources are used and valued sustainably, reducing single use items and ensuring that they can be disposed of properly.
We are lucky enough to swim in a clean pool, but fish and other marine life don’t have that same choice. By raising funds and awareness, USWSP hopes to be able to make even a small change and support the Marine Conservation Society’s efforts.
Our English Channel Swim (in our swimming pool)
We swam 21 miles (1344 lengths) and raised £816!
Every year we show our support to World Ocean's Day in order to continue raising awareness for the health of marine life and water sources.
We joined in the online campaign 'ZEROWASTELUNCH' to discourage the unneccesary single-use plastics in everyday life.
To join in our online campaigns make sure to follow the links to our social medias, especially Instagram so that you can get involved on our stories!
A previous chosen charity to donate to was Headway! We choose our charity democratically, with everyone in the club being given the opportunity to vote for the charity they want to raise money for.
Headway – the brain injury association is the UK’s leading national charity dedicated to promoting understanding of all aspects of brain injury. They work nationally to provide support, services and information to brain injury survivors, their families and carers. Brain injury can challenge every aspect of your life – walking, talking, thinking and feeling – the losses can be severe and permanent. It can mean losing the life you once lived and the person you once were.
